CONCEPT
Lady Like is defined as a woman who is graceful, polite, well mannered and behaves in a socially acceptable way, but what is that in the modern day? The collaboration explores questions of what it is to be lady like in the modern world.
This concept for the collaboration was inspired by the highly feminine occasion wear garments within Dion Lee's collections as it evokes a sense of sophisticated beauty, the modern lady. I wanted to contrast Dion Lee's view of sensuality and femininity throughout the collection. To do this I gave the collection a mix of relaxed street style silhouettes, prints that I made, and the use of everyday fabrics. To make sure Dion Lee's consumers don't feel put off by the collection I wanted to incorporate his love of detailed construction, similar hardware and textual elements. I also wanted to incorporate some business wear and event wear as they are two of his main consumer groups.
